Combating Obsesity and Inflexibility at the Same Time

Today I did the sit-and-reach. I found the contraption had been left out, so I saddled up. Reference my visual aid at left. There was no Presidential Fitness Standards Scale around to chart my success. Still, it went pretty well. So I placed myself in the 99th percentile.

I always placed in some pretty solid percentiles back in my day, except for the sit'n'reach. Myself and Kachan were always the worst two. I sat. I reached. I failed.

The flexibility stuff was usually my strongest suit. After totally nailing the sit-n-reach I would proceed to hang limply from the pull-up bar, trying not to weep. Oh, the shame of upper body weakness.

No disrespect to your post or your drawing but it took me quite a while to figure out what was going on here. I think the "sit-n-reach" must have been past my time...I'm old....

If you look closely at the diagram, you'll see the secret to Sri's success. She somehow is able to snap her spine in two pieces in the middle of her back, where she has installed a hinge.

Sri = the Robocop of Sit-n-reach.

I didn't realize collar bones bent quite like that. You never cease to amaze.
