Speculums are funny.
Nervous Doctors are not so much.
I'm not afraid of needles or getting weighed or being honest about how much I exercise ("define 'exercise...'"), but when it comes to the paper gown, well. How comfortable should you be? None. None comfortable unless you are the physician. Your job is to put me at ease with your professionalism while my ladyfeet are in the stirrups. That means laughing at my jokes, Jerk.
Int. room #9:
Doc: So, have you been getting your yearly pap?
Me: Mhmm.
Doc: Yes? Because it's really important.
Me: Yes. I like to make sure I get one really awkward check-up in this office every year. Wouldn't miss it for the world.
Doc: Oh. Um. Haha.
Me: In fact, you should really just follow me around....
Doc: ...
Me: Er...
Doc: ...

soooo. awkward. there is just slim chance of a "good experience", ever, in such a situation. sigh.
coming from experience, its not the situation in which your male healthcare workers are most comfortable making/receiving jokes. were TOO focused on professionalism (making sure you dont accuse us of being a perv).
i have one "good" one. kinda funny.
the doctor (of the female persuasion, clearly) told me that she liked my socks. i thought that was nice. then, as the sheet slipped from me knees to me .. away from knees .. she put it back and said, "oh, just give you a bit of privacy there."
as compared to you ... your hand in me just there?
i laughed.
