Robert Skoro and the Contractions

On any given Friday night, I can stay awake until 10:30, no problem. Then comes a rapid descent into the pit of exhaustion and I reclaim my "fun hater" title.
You should have seen me last night.
I was a champ.
We grooved to the fine music of Cataract Camp, Travis Morisson and the Hellfighters, and the wonderful Robert Skoro. Be still my 8th grade heart.*
But even more impressive is that Anne was able to match my enthusiasm for the performance--while contracting.
Because she's due IN 11 DAYS.
To have a BABY.
(And so help her GOD if that child does not remove itself from her womb before then. She is not responsible for the pain she might inflict on an innocent, unpregnant bystander.)

*When I was in 8th grade, I bought a demo tape of a local high school musician whose four track masterwork, "stories of my alien abduction," is on my desk right now. Unrelatedly, (or so I thought) I bopped along to a song on the Current the other day..."And that was '2318' by local artist Robert Skoro." My jaw dropped. I called Anne.

I'm so bummed I missed Rob Skoro!!! I couldn't stay up that late...and I'm not even pregnant. But I'm super glad you were there to experience junior high school level joy! I'll have to joy-in you next time!
